I LOVE THE BEACH!

This was Saltburn beach on Thursday...the sun shone like it wasn't winter anymore! I took almost a whole film on my Diana Mini camera so I will get them developed and any good ones will be posted on here :) fingers crossed!

Blue skies and dry sand, perfect.

Beautiful photos from a beautiful person - Bethany Lewis.

I just dicovered that Beth (another one of my best friends! Keeping it tight!) had a website last night when she told me that she had put a link to this blog on there and so i had a little click on...WOW-  her photos are stunning! Who knew she was so talented?!

In her own words "I photograph with minimum fuss. Your only fear is possibility."

The site is all very new and just starting up but the photographs she has taken are so lovely it's worth a click,  and with a name like filthy- pamphlet, whats not to love!? Also a nice feature is that each time you go on the site the photos have swapped round and changed from colour to B&W.
My favourite album is 'positive thinking- from her time spent in india working with children/adults suffering from HIV. Very inspiring - Watch this space. :)

Cute outfit of the day!

This is Baz! (Her real name's Jayne but not to me) She's been my best friend for 10 years and she was rocking this look in Newcastle yesterday. What a doll! Check out her pale denim buttoned up dress with black tights and plims combo, a winner for cute daywear! Also the side plait keeping her long locks out of the wild wind! Here she is...

Look at Baz's little bear friend next to her!

Baz will be back soon I'm sure as a future outfit of the day and also appearing as a guest blogger! Big up ya bad self Baz!

Cute outfit of the day!

Meet Boo - my little sister, (well Amy but Boo to me!) I think she's looking very cute today so I took a little photo before she headed out dancing to pop on here for my very first outfit of the day post!

Top - Urban Outfitters (its actually mine but looks better on her!)
Cropped Jeans - Peacocks
Converse boots
Hair - Boo's own!

You will be seeing more from Boo soon, since we live together I'm sure I'll snap her again soon in the hall!

My collage wall...the half finished version!

.My collage wall has been stuck half finished for years! It's got some of my favourite things on it but not enough! Here it is...

I'm showing you it as it is and will update as I add more pictures, bits and frames to it, the bad thing is that I have been collecting frames for the wall and keeping them under my bed- being lazy! So watch this space, I'm going to do it, I promise! Maybe some of my new photos from my Diana Mini will go up ( if they aren't all black!)  :)

My new favourite toy - Diana Mini! Part One...

I LOVE MY NEW TOY!

My lovely brother and sister bought me this pretty little camera for Christmas (after many cheeky hints!) I had expressed my love for lomography and how I had researched into it and thought the Diana Mini was the cutest one around!

I love the surprise of getting the photos back and had seen the old fashioned, hazy quality this camera gives and lovely colours it creates, plus it takes normal film and can be processed anywhere!

But Diana doesn't only look cute,OH NO,it clever too, it can take half frame shots and square frames too, so can easily be mixed up! I have had my first film developed, some good some very bad!

2 of my square shots

A half frame shot- oops I didn't wind it on enough!

Hazy half frame sunshine shots

A feature in last months Company magazine about another girls love for her Diana! Here's what I hope mine will look like soon!
Next on my wish list will be a flash since alot of them turned out black :( it's mainly for daytime shots outside and depends alot on the light but still, some weren't too shabby by the end of the roll I was getting the hang of it!Practise makes perfect, so you may see me with this glued to my face, pointing at you soon! I will keep you posted on my progress! Roll on the next film!

http://microsites.lomography.com/dianamini/ check out the galleries! Beautiful.

Elle Collections Magazine - Spring Summer 2011. If only I could afford any of it...

The new Elle Collections magazine is out now and is jam packed full of gorgeous prints and designs from the SS11 catwalks! It has loads of info about the coming season and I enjoy the invite page, where it shows what all the shows invitations looked like! Personally I really like the way the paper feels and the magazine smells (strange but true!) anyway... its very helpful for getting a round up of all the best bits from the shows. (And Spring/Summer is always alot more colourful and exciting than the Autumn/Winter issue!)

Jonathon Saunders line up page- looks gorgeous to me.

Jil Sander full page print.

Backstage Direction from the designers.

A lovely magazine to look at - oh comely. oh yes!

I came across a magazine that I liked the look of in WHSmith and I would recommend it to anyone who likes quirky and lovely things! Its tag line is "keep your curiosity sacred" and it includes some weird and wonderful articles about people and creative non-sense including - the world next door (about getting to know your neighbours and a few stories from readers) the gallery underground (about art on the London tube) and also how to make lanterns from tin cans and sharing family recipes along with testing home cures for sniffles.

Its quite cute and my favourite articles are the ones on illustrations, one from Julia Pott (who draws love stories between people as if they are animals) and a battle between 2 illustrators via pen and paper. I really like the photos too.

Quite inspiring to get creative if you ask me!Don't you think?!

Drinking Shopping & Doing! at Drink Shop & Do!

So I have found my new favourite place and thought I would make it my first blog for 2011...
Drink Shop & Do!

                                                                             Here's Nat having a browse!
How very rude.

The drawer of dreams & wishes- with Nat's, Kate's and Mine added in

It's the cutest little hide-away, just around the corner from Kings Cross Station in London and its the perfect place to spend some time in the big city!
The little gem is a shop at the front selling cute homemade and vintage bits and bobs and it leads through to a mini cafe/bar selling snacks, sweets, cakes and alcohol! But the best bit is the Do section, each night there is a theme and you can sit and have a drink whilst knitting, doing dot to dot disco, playing with clay or generally getting creative! Oh and everything in there is for sale, even the chairs and table you perch on! They sell homemade stew and soup, tiny crustless sandwiches and cakes and bagged up sweets and if you order a large wine it arrives in a tumbler glass, full to the top and for only £5! YES!

I have been a few times over Christmas when visiting London and it was such a lovely place to snuggle up when its cold outside, so relaxed and friendly, with music playing and cushions and blankets to get cosy under. I went alone at one point and felt very happy reading in the corner under a glowing lamp. I can't tell you enough that you should go, its a lovely place to meet friends or go on a date or buy a little gift for someone, so go on - Drink Shop & Do!

Drink Shop Do, 9 Caledonian Road, London  N1 9DX

PS- I emailed the lovely people at Drink, Shop & Do telling them about my love for the place and they put a link to my blog thanking me! How lovely!  http://www.drinkshopdo.com/page5.htm
